HC’s 10 Favorite Sweaters for Fall 2013

It’s that time of year again when the temperature drops and the thought of getting out of bed for your morning classes seems even more unbearable.  Thankfully, if you find yourself a fabulous, comfy sweater, you won’t mind the chill and will be ready to get up and cozy up with your favorite boy (uh… we mean textbook). Check out our top picks!

1. Back in Black

BDG Rolled-Sleeve Open Cardigan, Urban Outfitters, $59

Not ready to store away your favorite tank tops? An oversized open cardigan like this can solve that problem for the winter. Throw this on over a tank and you’ve instantly transformed your summer outfit for the fall.

2. Sailor Style

PSILoveYouMoreBoutique, $30

This tunic-length, nautical striped sweater would look great with a pair of black leggings and brown wedge-heel booties. Don’t dismiss this sweater for its neutral colors, because when you add a chic burgundy or red scarf to it, your outfit will turn heads!

3. Cool Leather

Quinn Leather Panels Sweater, Francesca’s, $44

This sweater makes a statement with its leather side panels. It would look great with a spiked gold necklace for a dash of edge and distressed boyfriend jeans to complete the look.

4. License to Frill

AE Party Sweater, American Eagle, $44.99

The ruffles on this sweater are girly and fun and would look even better with bouncy curled hair.  Perfect for a crisp fall day, this sweater would look amazing with a nice pair of jeans and perhaps some layered gold necklaces.

5. Short and Sweet

Cropped Mixed Stitch Crew Neck Sweater, Express, $49.90

Crop tops have been very popular on the runways lately, and the style has come a long way from the days of the Spice Girls. This fall, try a more mellow and mature style with this cropped sweater paired with some high-waisted bottoms.

6. Moto

Element Blume Sweater, PacSun, $69.50

The motorcycle trend is one of the coolest for 2013 and it has been popular enough to gain its own nickname, “moto.” So don’t miss out—try a moto sweater for a little more rock and roll this fall! It would look great with black skinny jeans or jeggings.

7. A Throwback

Varsity Stripe Waffle Knit Sweater, Forever 21, $22.80

Try this varsity-style sweater with a black down vest and combat boots. Toss your hair up in a loose bun to complete the retro look this fall.

8. Lace Up

Beige Batwing Long Sleeve Hollow Embroidered Sweater, Sheinside, $24.43

This sweater has a classic vintage look; the batwing sleeves are on-trend and oh-so-comfortable. It will work with both jeans and leggings. Complete the look with tall brown boots for a clean yet trendy look.

9. Red Hot

Red Long Sleeve Drawstring Loose Cardigan Sweater, sheshining.com, $30.48

If you’re looking for a sweater that makes a bold statement, this is the one for you. Pair it with leggings and a snug top and you’ll have created the ultimate library outfit.

10. Mellow Yellow

Asymmetric Striped Loose Yellow Jumper, ROMWE, $25.61

A mustard yellow sweater is a great way to transform a summer yellow to be more versatile for the fall. It would look great with a complementary colored scarf, like a purple one!

With one of these snuggly sweaters, you have no reason to fear cooler weather! Try one of these on and you’ll be ready for winter in no time.
