On Saturday, June 25, renowned fashion photographer Bill Cunningham passed away at the age of 87. Known for his great influence on the industry through his street-style photography, the bicycle-riding New York Times employee’s shots have and will continue to inspire photographers in his field for decades. On December 30, 1978, The New York Times published Cunningham’s first full spread, exhibiting his signature street-style photography technique.

This video showcases Cunningham’s final project for The New York Times, “Duality,” released on June 3rd, in which he conveys the timeless trend of black and white.

Rest in peace.
