The end of the year means looking back and reflecting on the past 12 months. For us fashion-obsessed collegiettes the type of reflecting that we do usually revolves around the past year’s clothes and trends. We got to see some stunning looks on the red carpet, but sometimes, our favorite outfits come from celebrities off duty—check out our favorite celebrity street style looks from 2014, below!
1. January
We’ll start off the year with the mother of all things fashion, Rachel Zoe. Her all black ensemble is classic and has enough layers to keep it interesting. She gets bonus points for having her stylish son Skylar looking fab as well.
2. February
Alexa Chung looks ’90s-chic in her metallic coat! Pairing it with simple skinnies and a black top and booties, she kept the outfit looking fresh and clean instead of costumey and dated.
3. March
In one of her classic monochromatic outfits, Kim Kardashian wore all pink, which looked amazing against her dark skin and hair. She also somehow managed to trek through the dirt in some statement-making heels… quite the feat.
4. April
Usually known for her edgy urban style, Rihanna opted for a cute and girly outfit in a bright teal. She added her rocker flair to the look in the form of funky gold jewelry and a structured black leather purse with red detail.
4. May
This was a big year for Gigi Hadid—so of course she made the list. Looking like the ultimate model off duty, she decided to add a pair of Nike sneakers to her button-down and jeans, giving the look an effortlessly chic vibe.
6. June
Olivia Palermo, the queen of street style, married her beau of 6 years this past June. What did she wear to her wedding? A sweater, tulle skirt and shorts. Of course she did. We wouldn’t expect anything less brilliant from OP.
7. July
Staying cool in the July heat, Miranda Kerr rocked a black printed maxi skirt. Wearing black in the summer can sometimes be tricky, but the light fabric of the skirt and the strappy tank top she paired with it kept it appropriate for warmer temps. We also love the delicate necklace she layered over the look!
8. August
2014 was the year we learned that Taylor Swift was a perfect human being and somehow always left the gym looking completely flawless. In the scorching August heat and after a workout, she sported this graphic twinset and metallic stilettos.
9. September
A very pregnant Kourtney Kardashian rocked a truly amazing fringe leather jacket. Along with a white mini dress, her outfit is anything but boring maternity wear. And where would a fashionista be without her big sunglasses and red lipstick?
10. October
Only Sarah Jessica Parker could make sweatpants look so stylish. Paired with an oversized gray sweater, booties and a Panama hat, her sweats look like a million bucks. If only we could look this great in our PJs on campus.
11. November
Acclimating to the chilly November weather, Blake Lively looked super cute in her black and red poncho paired with her skinny black pants, tall black heeled boots and mile-long legs. Matching her red lip to the red in the poncho? So smart.
12. December
Jessica Alba’s Cali-girl vibe really shined though in this black outfit. Her messy waves under the hat, the leather booties and oversized open cardigan jacket all give this look an easy, laidback vibe.
