Will Kim K’s Divorce Affect Clothing Sales?

There is no denying that the Kardashians have turned their last name into a business empire. From boutiques to self-tanners, they have a monopoly over every imaginable market…and that doesn’t exclude drama.

Will the recent media backlash from Kim’s microsecond-long marriage affect profits for the Kardashian Collection™ and DASH clothing? While it may be too soon to tell, analysts are suggesting that her divorce from soon-to-be ex Kris Humphries may actually benefit the brands.

“It’s probability good publicity,” said Paul Swinand, a Morningstar equities analyst who covers Sears. “Since Sears’ problem is that it’s a little dowdy and a little old, some news that’s a little outlandish is probably a good thing.”

Personally, I think Kim K’s 72-day sham of marriage was morally reprehensible. That doesn’t necessarily mean I’ll be writing off her clothing line though. A lot of the pieces from the Kardashian Collection™ are super chic and very affordable. Items like the sequin split sleeve dress and leather panel leggings may be the sole motivating factors that would lead up to me stepping foot inside of a Sears for the first time in about a decade.

What do you think, collegiettes™? Is Kim’s divorce bad for her business? Would you buy her products despite all of the drama? Let us know below!
