These Adorable (& Affordable) Flats Were Made for Summer Internships

Now that we’re halfway through June, chances are, you’ve started your summer internship. Sure, you have that one cute outfit that’s perfect for the office (yes, the outfit you bought for the interview)… but your lived-in college sweatshirt and party pumps? Yeah, they probably don’t translate too well to office-appropriate clothing. Since buying an entirely new wardrobe isn’t an option, the key is to stock up on a few key items that you can mix and match from day to day, so we’re starting from the bottom—with your shoes. All six pairs of flats will make you look fabulously chic at the office, while staying within your budget!

1. GC Shoes Exit Flats, DSW.com, $29.94
These light pink flats are perfect for the chic collegiette who also loves a great deal. Originally priced at $50, these inexpensive flats will look great with a white sun dress and a colorful cardigan.

2. Bossy Prance Flat, ModCloth, $83.99

Nothing screams “I am a professional” more than a pair of classy oxfords. If you love button-downs and get your style inspiration from menswear, then be sure to pick up these flats from Modcloth.

3. Leather Shoes, H&M, $40
Show your edgy side at work with these leather flats from H&M. The lucite heel will add something unique to your outfit, while the leather will give your outfit a slick look. Pair with a pencil skirt and a denim button down. The mixture of denim and leather textures will make your outfit look totally put together.

4. All Black Met D’Orsay Flats, Anthropologie, $59.95

These textured and (now) affordable flats from Anthropologie were originally priced at $119. Now, at only $59.95, they are totally within reach! The cutouts add a feminine touch, and we think they’d pair well with menswear-inspired pieces, like a tailored blazer.

5. Melissa Virtue Bee Flock Slipper Shoes, ASOS, $87

Ever since we saw T.Swift rock the grandpa loafers, we’ve been all over them too. These ones are mega cute. The burgundy color matches well with most colors and the style can be worn year-round. While real life bugs are pretty gross, we think these gold-accented insects are pretty neat.

6. Steven Madden Heaven Patent Ballet Flat, DSW, $29.94

This pair of patent flats is made for the minimalist who wants to keep her work attire clean and modern. The simple silhouette is easy to dress up or down, and the summery color opens up endless color-blocking opportunities. Match this shoe with statement jewelry of the same tone for a fun pop of color!

What flats will you be wearing to your summer internship, collegiettes?
