Steal Kate Middleton’s Chicest NYC Looks for Less

William and Kate may have just wrapped up their three-day visit to New York City, but to be perfectly honest, we’re still fangirling a little bit (okay, a lot) over the photos from the royal family’s trip. Unsurprisingly, Kate looks super chic in… Every. Single. One. The style icon definitely didn’t let the cold and rainy December weather rain on her fashion parade, and had plenty of amazing looks to stay warm in. Below, we’ve listed our favorites and show you how to get her looks for less, so keep scrolling!

1. Visiting the 9/11 memorial

It may have been a dreary, rainy winter morning, but that didn’t stop the Duchess from stepping out in an pretty pop of pink to visit the 9/11 Memorial with William on Tuesday morning. It’s easy to stick to grays and blacks during the dark months of winter, but we love the cheerful color and classic shape of Kate’s Mulberry coat. Love the coat? Pick up this equally elegant bright pink cocoon coat ($38 at Missguided) at a fraction of the price. Take style cues from Kate by toning down the bright color with neutral clothing and accessories, like a black skirt and grey sweater for day, and layer it over your favorite LBD for night!

2. Attending a charity brunch

Kate took the classic LBD to new winter-appropriate levels when she attended a charity brunch on Tuesday in a simple and sophisticated black turtleneck dress, which she accessorized with a gold hoop necklace and other timeless staples like black pumps and tights. This look shows that less is definitely more, and that sometimes closet basics make the best outfits! To get her look for less, try this A-Line turtleneck dress ($15.80 at Forever 21) with black tights and your favorite pumps, or even flat ankle booties if you’re feeling a more dressed-down vibe to wear around campus.

3. Arriving at the Carlyle Hotel

For her first appearance in the Big Apple, arriving at the Carlyle Hotel on Sunday night, Kate looked as put-together as ever in a stunning tweed burgundy coat from Seraphine, a maternity label she’s been showing some major love to lately. To get the collegiette-approved version of this coat, try this double-breasted style ($99 at Yes Style). This is a coat style that can be dressed up or down, so try it with tights and black ankle booties to get Kate’s look, or wear it with boyfriend jeans and a snuggly sweater paired with flat black ankle boots.

4. Meeting New York City’s first lady

Kate kept her coat game going strong on Monday when she visited the Northside Center for Child Development in Harlem and even met NYC’s first lady, Chirlane McCray (whose style game is pretty strong, too!). We love the subtle mod vibe we’re getting from Kate’s black collarless coat with white accents. Kate’s version may have been $1,062 – but you can get the look for ten times less! We recommend this wool collarless coat ($99 at Uniqlo), which looks great as a classic topper for any outfit, but especially over your favorite sparkly holiday dress for the perfect look for traveling to and from those parties this season!

5. Heading off to a dinner

Nobody does classic and elegant like Kate Middleton—and this sophisticated lace LBD she wore to dinner on Sunday is proof of that. We love the all-over lace look with the sheer sleeves, which make for an elegant update on a classic dress shape. Need the perfect look for that upcoming family Christmas party? Try Kate’s look with this lace sleeve chiffon skater dress ($20 at boohoo). Go for the all black, or add some festive color with a pair of red pumps or flats for the holidays!

Kate is the ultimate style icon when it comes to sophisticated, elegant style. What’s your favorite Kate Middleton style moment?
