After months of fuzzy socks, hot chocolate, and knit infinity scarves, it’s finally time to ditch winter and say hello to a much-welcomed spring. You may be ready for spring, but is your wardrobe?  Dressing for spring is going to take more than just shedding your puffy coat and digging your sandals out of storage.  Fortunately, stylists Salvador Camarena and Robert Tanis can tell us exactly what to expect this season and what items you have to get right now.

Skater Dress

These sporty fit-and-flare dresses are everywhere, and we love them!  Camarena considers sporty dresses a must-have piece for collegiettes this season. These dresses are fun and flirty and they give your outfit just the bounce it needs for spring. You can dress your skater dress up with a statement necklace and a pair of wedges, or down with sandals and a denim jacket – either way you’ll be ready to hit the town, or just campus, in this sporty, fit-and-flare trend!

Cropped Pants

“This spring, it’s all about the pants,” Tanis says.  Slim ankle-length pants can be a trendy and comfortable go-to piece for those busy days spent running from class to class. This trend reflects the mid-century modern look that is oh-so-popular this spring, he says, and encourages collegiettes to channel their inner Jackie O. Try coordinating your cropped pants with ballet flats and an oversized shirt for a cute and casual on-the-go look!

White Pumps

Looking for a way to make your little black dress or favorite skinny jeans ready for a night out this spring? Look no further than a simple pair of white pumps!  Contrast is huge right now, and black and white are among Camarena’s go-to shades this season. So add a pop of contrast to your going-out look this spring with a pair of white pumps!  They’re cute, versatile, and they go with just about anything you could possibly pull out of your closet.  No wonder these shoes are white-hot for spring!

Bold Stripe Top

Look out florals!  This spring, bold stripes are everywhere.  “I can’t stress enough the importance of bold stripes this season,” Camarena says.  “If you want to be on trend, try something with a black and white bold stripe or check pattern.” Bonus points if you complete your black and white look with white pumps!

Sheer Popover Blouse

Blouses also make Camarena’s list of essential pieces for spring, and these blouses are everywhere!  We love them because they come in all kinds of fun spring colors and you can wear them with just about anything – cropped pants, white jeans, a cute skirt, etc.!  Popover blouses work for just about any situation, too, because you can dress them up or down with complementary clothing and accessories.  They’re perfect for a full day of classes, your first date with that campus cutie, a girls’ day at the mall, or anything else that the beautiful spring weather inspires you to do!

Crossover Top

Another must-have, crossover tops instantly make any outfit trendy and spring-appropriate!  Whether your crossover is in the front or the back, these tops are visually interesting and super trendy because they show off a little bit of skin but maintain elegance. Instead of reaching for your go-to V-neck tee this spring, try one of these crossover tops to update your wardrobe and celebrate the warmer weather!
