6 Celebrity-Inspired Swimsuit Cover-Ups

It’s that time again—beach season!  You’ve probably invested hour(s) online shopping and stripping down in fitting rooms, all to find that perfect swimsuit.  You’re all set, right?  Not so.  You might have the cutest swimsuit on the beach, but no one will know if you arrive in an old t-shirt and Soffee shorts.  For all they know you just rolled out of bed.  Instead, complete your look with a cover-up just as fabulous as what is underneath.  It’s time to look effortlessly pulled-together— because the“beach bum” look is no longer “in” (if it ever was to begin with).   Here are our top picks for cute cover-ups, inspired by your favorite celebrities.

1. Kendra & the Crochet Romper

This is the exact same romper Kendra wore at a poolside party in Vegas.  It offers extra coverage and an ultra flattering fit.  Everything But Water, $139

2. Kim Kardashian & the Sarong

Kim Kardashian shows us that a sarong is sexy.  Bonus: You can walk down the beach without worrying about your cellulite!  Everything But Water, $27

3. Audrina Patridge & the Knit Vest

Knit vests are no longer just for crisp fall days.  Now wear them over your swimsuit for a bohemian lookEverything But Water, $55

4. Lindsay Lohan & the Camp Shirt.

I know what you’re thinking—this looks a bit like “Risky Business.”  I assure you, collegiettes™, that this look is classic and sophisticated if you roll up the sleeves and unbutton most of the buttons.  Add some long necklaces and a wide-brimmed floppy hat to feminize it more.  Ralph Lauren, $69

5.  Blake Lively & the Exotic Tunic

Take a hint from Gossip Girl beauty, Blake Lively, and turn up the heat with some exotic prints.  It doesn’t matter if the print doesn’t match your swimsuit, as long as your booty is covered.   I like the girly spin off by Lilly Pulitzer.  Garnet Hill, $98

6. Beyonce & the Chiffon Overlay

This diva knows how to work the safari prints.  Not to mention this chiffon will blow beautifully in the wind—perfect for catching *his* eye.  Just remember that these see-through dresses are classified as “beach-only.”  Asos, $23.31

Next time you head to the beach, I hope think twice about reaching for your old Soffee shorts and t-shirt.  Think about what your favorite celebrity would wear, and be inspired!  Comment below with YOUR favorite way to cover-up at the beach.
