Oh, what a week it was. For the past two weeks, my Twitter, Tumblr, and Instagram feed were a massive flood of fashion week pictures. The images were equal parts inspiring and frustrating, since I can’t really afford to buy designer clothing and accessories quite yet. Below are the items from NYFW that I was coveting the most. Comment below with which items are on your wish list.
These Rodarte boots are probably my favorite thing from all of fashion week. I’ve been a giant fan of Rodarte (pronounced ro-dar-tay) for quite some time now. Unlike most major fashion houses, Rodarte has only been around since 2005, but it’s already received major attention — and it’s no wonder. Kate and Laura Mulleavy (the founders of Rodarte, who, fun fact, still live with their parents) are incredible at blending fashion classics with fresh ideas.
I usually think of prints as a spring or summer trend, but this Rachel Comey dress proves that prints are very much possible in winter — even polka dots. I would never think to mix lace and polka dots, but this works so well.
I’ve been a Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen fan since the It Takes Two days. Of course, purchasing a VHS of Passport to Paris is a bit more affordable than their luxe fashion line, Elizabeth and James. Still, I love this Elizabeth and James coat. It’s minimalistic (a major trend for F/W 2012), but the touch of purple keeps it from being boring.
Nobody does prints like Suno and this Suno dress is no exception. Suno is still very much up-and-coming, but, with all the attention they’re getting, it’s no doubt that they are here to stay. What’s even better than the designs of Suno is the mentality behind the designer. The designs are produced in Kenya by skilled artists. They are truly works of art.
