We are the Millennial Generation.  We’re the generation known for being connected all day, every day.  At any moment, we can tweet something we saw on Facebook, or text a friend about breaking news on CNN.  We can record video and share it with the world in minutes, or download and listen to a podcast on our iPods instantaneously.
A little less than two years ago, I was exactly where you are. A recent high school graduate, I had my whole college career in front of me, and while it was exciting, I’d be lying if I told you I wasn’t at least a little nervous.
Everybody loves Facebook, no doubt. It was recently the most-visited site for the day, beating out Google. And as college students, who knows how many hours we’ve all spent creeping on our friends instead of doing our homework.
It’s 2 a.m., and you suddenly get that feeling – the feeling that all college students are notorious for having. It’s early morning, and man, you are hungry. But what to do? If you live in the dorms, the dining halls have been closed for hours, and you’re definitely not making Ramen noodles again.
Greek life never really appealed to me. Then again, the only real pre-college exposure I’d had to fraternities and sororities was whatever movies and television had taught me. Kegs, popped collars, and hair gel – we all know the fraternity stereotypes. For this sheltered boy, that was all (I thought) I knew about Greek life. I promised myself I’d never rush a frat.
