Hello, March! Now, I’m not the biggest TV junkie but since 2016 started, I’ve found some shows that I really love! I am obsessed with three new shows and I love that they provide something to look forward to after a long week of stressful assignments and group projects. So please, take care of yourself this month and practice self-care (and not procrastination!). Take a timed break from your essays, presentations, and lab reports to watch an episode of one of these 3 new shows. Whether you binge-watch them on Netflix, PVR, or stream online, I hope you’re as hooked after one episode as I was.

1.  Lucifer

Police Comedy-Drama

Mondays on CTV at 9pm

Starring: Tom Ellis, Lauren German, Kevin Alejandro, Lesley-Ann Brandt.

What would happen if the Devil decided he needed a vacation from hell and decided to visit the City of Angels? Oh, and he also has a British accent? This is the premise of the show Lucifer, based on a DC comic book. Lucifer Morningstar abandons his kingdom in hell to run a club called Lux and solve crimes with Chloe Decker, a LAPD homicide detective. Lucifer is not your average Devil – he has a supernatural way of getting people to reveal their desires, he despises children, and he sees a therapist. It’s like the show “Castle,” but with more sass and innuendos.

2. Younger

Comedy-Drama

Mondays at 9pm on E!

Starring: Sutton Foster, Debi Mazar, Miriam Shor, Nico Tortorella, Hilary Duff, Peter Hermann, Molly Bernard

I have yet to meet anyone else who watches Younger, so I decided to share it with all of you. Liza is a 40-year-old single mother who attempts to start her post-divorce life over by pretending to be a twenty something. She gets an assistant job at Empirical Press, a publishing house. Liza’s work friend Kelsey and Liza’s hottie-boyfriend Josh who are both in their twenties, believe that Liza is the same age. Only Liza’s best friend and roommate Maggie, knows her secret but the question is whether Liza can keep it a secret for long… I don’t know what is more covetable in this show – Josh, Kelsey and Liza’s wardrobe, or a job at a publishing house. All 3 things definitely make this humorous show worth watching.

3. Cooper Barrett’s Guide to Surviving Life

Comedy

Sundays at 8:30pm on Fox

Starring: Jack Cutmore-Scott, Meaghan Rath, James Earl, Charlie Saxton, Liza Lapira, Justin Bartha (Doug from The Hangover movie franchise).

This show is like Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide…but for millennials. Cooper Barrett is a millennial trying to navigate post-college life with his friends/ roommates Barry and Neal. Episodes are titled “How to Survive Insufficient Funds” and “How to Survive Losing Your Phone,” so you can definitely relate to these twenty something struggles. Each episode has a familiar format: it opens with Cooper in a cliff-hanger situation and then the rest of the episode reveals how he got himself into, and out of that situation. You will laugh at least once watching this show. The only unfortunate thing about this show is that Jack Cutmore-Scott, who is British in real-life, plays Cooper with an American accent.

Tweet me @previlonnn to let me know if you start watching one of these shows! Or, let us know what TV shows will you be looking forward to despite the chaotic month ahead?
