What to Expect from Season Two of “Stranger Things” Based on Episode Names

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at YCP chapter.

Over the past month, Netflix has carefully and methodically released several ominous teasers regarding its smash-hit original series, “Stranger Things”. According to the trailers, the events of season two will take place around Halloween night and continue to focus on Will Byers’ lingering connection to the Upside Down.

Most of the titles of the nine new episodes have been revealed, and are as follows:

Episode 1: MadMax

This episode is most likely named after the new character Max, who is played by Sadie Sink (shown on the far right). Max and her step-brother Billy, played by Dacre Montgomery, had recently moved to Hawkins started to attend school with the others.

Episode 2: Trick or Treat Freak

Seems like the gang decided on group costumes this year. And even though it’s time-period appropriate, the “Ghostbusters” theme might be hitting too close to home.

Episode 3: The Pollywog

“Pollywog” is actually another name for a tadpole. Perhaps that is what the slug-like creature from the season one finale really was?

Nah, probably not. It’s much more likely that the title is simply meant to foreshadow an extreme transformation of some sort.

Episode 4: Will the Wise

Not much to be said here.

Episode 5: Dig Dug

“Dig Dug” is an arcade game that was released in 1982, two years before the setting of “Stranger Things.” Its main objective is to create a pathway of tunnels that will allow you to both avoid and defeat monsters. This is most likely connected to the fact that, in the season two trailer, Chief Hopper and the others are seen navigating the tunnels of the Upside Down.

Episode 6: The Spy

Episode 7: Chapter 7

Episode 8: Chapter 8

Episode 9: Chapter 9

These last four episodes are either too vague to analyze or have yet to be announced, probably due to heavy spoilers. They have to keep some sort of suspense going, after all. But with “Stranger Things 2” dropping on October 27th, we can find out the truth for ourselves.
