What’s it like being on the basketball team? It’s a lot of fun. Right when I got here I had a family and a brotherhood that I was immediately welcomed in to, which made the transition into Yale super smooth. And we have fun! I mean, it’s a lot of work, but we all do it together.

How’s the team looking this season? We’re going to be great. Look out for Yale Basketball this year. This is going to be a special year. We have a lot of guys who have done a lot of great things here already and are coming back ready to 1) beat Harvard and 2) make it to the NCAA tournament.

Any pre-game rituals? Listening to music and putting my left shoe on before my right.

Where can we find you on a Saturday night? Out roaming…wherever the party is at.

What’s your ideal girl? Not too tall, nice eyes, and a contagious smile.

Do you have a go-to pick up line? I can’t…these are going to be used! These either have already been used or going to continue to be used. I can’t give out my go-to’s.

Ideal date back home? Where would you take a girl here in New Haven? Back home, going to the beach at night is a great spot. But here in New Haven? Just something chill. Like going on a walk somewhere nice and just talking over dinner. A lot of people are on their phones and stuff so just spending time on a date with someone you really like and looking into their eyes is a really cool thing that people just don’t do as much anymore.

What’s the most romantic thing you’ve ever done for a girl? I went on a date with a girl and I was way too nervous the entire time to give her a kiss even though I really wanted to. So when I said goodbye to her I just left her on her door, gave her a hug, and went back to my car. I just sat in my car for a minute and was just so regretful and thought, “I just can’t leave it like this.” So I texted her like, “You forgot something,” and she’s like, “What did I forget?” and I told her I got it for her and was outside her door and when she opened the door I just gave her a kiss. I don’t know if that was romantic.

Any advice for Yale girls? Don’t wear too much makeup. I’m a big fan of girls and the natural look. And also, don’t be too quick to ride a guy off. There are a lot of guys that you might meet at first and be like, “Oh he’s not my type,” but give guys a shot. I mean obviously if you’re not interested in a guy you have no obligation to do anything with him or give him any of your time but I think sometimes girls are quick to ride off some guys when they don’t immediately see a guy that they think they’d be interested in.

Most embarrassing moment since you’ve been at Yale? Oh I fell down the stairs in front of a couple of girls. And I mean when you fall it’s fine but the problem was that it took me a while to get up ‘cause my backpack was around my neck and stuff.

Something you’re great at? Something you suck at? I’m a great confidence builder. Like if people are dealing with a problem and need someone to boost their confidence, that’s what I do. And I’m bad at not laughing in serious situations.

Yale girls are the best because… they’re pretty but they’re not just pretty faces. They have a lot more to offer than that.
