We have come to the end of week three of classes, and we all know what that means: homework, quizzes and first exams are fast approaching (if they haven’t already). Studying is now a nightly necessity, and I don’t think any of us missed that while we were away this summer. To keep your study sessions a little more lively, here are a few ways to spice them up!

Write in Color

Writing with colorful pens draws your eyes to the page without having to highlight every word on it. Underline your reading assignments and start taking notes in different colors to help keep your focus and make them much more fun to look at!

Listen to Music

Sometimes you can’t seem to keep your eyes open long enough to finish that essay or keep reading. Take a song break, and listen to a song you know will pump you up and get your brain awake again!

Reward Yourself with Snacks

We’ve all seen the idea of rewarding yourself with gummy bears for every paragraph you read. So why don’t we use it? Eat a gummy bear or Hershey kiss for every small accomplishment you make!

Label Notebooks with Washi Tape

Labeling your notebooks helps keep everything organized, so you can be more efficient when it comes time to start studying. This is how I keep myself from accidentally grabbing the wrong notebook when I go to the library.

So there you have it! Keep these tips and tricks in mind as exams approach, and you’ll practically be guaranteed an A!

Just a small town girl living in an even smaller college town. I'm an Accounting major at WVWC in hopes of someday going to law school. I enjoy coffee, jumping in puddles, & petting the locals' dogs when they take them for walks on campus.
