Find Your Voice With HC WVWC

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at WVWC chapter.

Hold your breath, okay don’t, but … This will be my last blog post as your Her Campus West Virginia Wesleyan College Blogger.

It’s been quite a wild ride even before day one, but all things — whether good or bad — will eventually come to an end. I remember Ashley, our founder, coming to me over Christmas Break before we officially launched Her Campus in 2013. I was so excited to be on a launch team with Ashley because anything she touches turns into something successful. If it weren’t for her passionate dedication during our launch, I don’t believe we would be here today, still reaching out to our college community.

All of us, especially me, have had an incredible opportunity to “Find [Our] Voice” here at Wesleyan during our time at Her Campus. Whether you’ve written with us before or you’re writing with us now, you were able to make your voice and ideas heard on this growing campus through an outlet of a growing national and international news medium for college women! How many people get to say that during their college time, they contributed to a website like Her Campus? We got to! I got to! I’m so thankful.

I’ve got to share my passions of health and wellness through “Better Your Life” posts.

I’ve used inspirational quotes by Audrey Hepburn and other inspirational men and women that helped me on my way (and I hope helped you on your’s as well).

I’ve shared inspirations from my own experiences, good times, bad times, and all of those in between.

I’ve shared in our survival kits sent by Her Campus (and even got some really cool stuff from those survival kits. Those things are awesome!).

I’ve sold cupcakes for “She’s the First” to help young women in developing countries get an education.

I’ve had the opportunity to share my views on big trends and current issues impacting us in our world.

It’s been a wild ride.

I’ve made connections and friends.

I’ve learned more on how to edit and structure and write for your publics.

I’ve learned how to work on a team.

I’ve learned so much.

I’m thankful for this wild ride.

I’ve shared all of my experiences and the thankfulness that’s overflowing in my heart from my time with HCWVWC, but my time is over. I’m graduating, and it’s time for me to move from this awesome thing and do something else awesome. I’m sad because I won’t be able to write for Her Campus anymore, but I’m happy at the same time because now it’s your turn!

Now is your time to influence your campus and your world with your voice. You have something to share. You have something to say, and HCWVWC needs you to share your views on current events, trends, health, wellness, and inspirations.

What is it that you have to say? “Find Your Voice” here at WVWC with Her Campus!

We’ve got a great group of girls lined up in leadership next semester who would be more than glad to have you on their team!

If you’re graduating, I’ll see you this weekend. Look for us HC WVWC grads in our pink cords (yeah, we’re awesome!).

If you’re not graduating and those previous two paragraphs piqued your interest, get in contact with one of us.

We’ll get you in contact with our leaders for next year and get involved! I’m going to be checking in, and I would love to see you “Find Your Voice”.

A public relations major with a passion for social media, the arts, and all things Disney, writer Corinne Weaver hopes to bring some Her Campus flare to WVWC. Weaver performs with the WVWC Theatre and Dance department, is a sister of Alpha Delta Pi, and interned at the National Aquarium in the Summer of '14!
