Do you find yourself crawling to that 8 a.m. class? Don’t worry, I’ve got your back! Keep reading to learn about the five-minute makeup routine that is bound to save you time in the mornings—and sleep!
1. Prime
We all know skin care is important, so please don’t ever take it for granted! To start your look, grab some primer—I recommend this one from Smashbox—and smooth some onto your T-zone. If you prefer to not use primer, tinted BB cream is a good alternative, too. This step takes about 30 seconds.
2. Foundation
If you have flawlessly smooth skin, feel free to skip this step. However, for those of us who don’t, grabbing a foundation like this one from Covergirl is affordable and takes about a minute to smooth over your face. You can use either a brush or your fingers, whichever you prefer! If using BB cream in step one, this step can even be skipped.
3. Conceal
If you don’t have blemishes, go ahead and skip this step. For those of us who do, grab something like this concealer from Maybelline and dab a small amount onto your red spots or pimples. This takes less than a minute!
4. Powder
This isn’t necessary, but oily skin always needs a cover-up of some sort. Try this powder from Maybelline and sweep some on with a powder brush. This takes around 30 seconds.
5. Curl your eyelashes and apply mascara!
You really don’t have to do this, but I take a curler like this one and push up my upper lashes and apply a generous coat of my favorite mascara on my top and bottom lashes. I recommend this step because it will make your eyes pop and you will look more awake when you see that cute guy sitting across the room in your morning class. This shouldn’t take any more than a minute.
6. The final step: gloss and go!
After you brush your teeth, grab a tube of lip gloss like this super minty one from Buxom, throw some on, toss it in your backpack or purse, and head to class! Only 30 seconds to look fierce!
And there you have it! In less than five minutes, you can feel 10 times better about yourself, give your skin some love and show people that you aren’t a sleep-deprived collegiette (let’s face it, it’s a hard-knock life for us).
Stay fierce, collegiettes!
