Elaina DePetro, AGD Philanthropy Chair

A new month, a new philanthropy! November is Diabetes Awareness Month so who better to be this week’s Campus Celebrity than Alpha Gamma Delta’s Philanthropy Chair, Elaina DePetro!

Elaina is a sophomore here at Wesleyan and is majoring in graphic design with a minor in media studies! Originally from Pittsburg, Pa. she was drawn to Wesleyan because of the family atmosphere.

Along with being AGD’s Philanthropy Chair, she also the Social Media and Marketing Coordinator for Bobcat Entertainment and also hosts a radio show on C-92 FM called Broadway in Buckhannon.

Alpha Gamma Delta’s official philanthropy is the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation where proceeds support diabetes programs, research and education, as well as scholarships, women’s leadership conferences, emergency support for sisters in need and more. Since November is Diabetes Awareness Month, Alpha Gamma Delta will be passing out grey ribbons to show their support. They are also holding a fundraiser at Buffalo Wild Wings on November 11 where 15 percent of your check will go to AGD!

“This year as a whole I am just excited to see what life as to offer,” Elaina said. “I run a daily blog, I am hoping it picks up. I have been blogging for little over a year almost every day. I want to see where that is going to take me.”

Keep an eye out for grey ribbons this month, collegiettes! And make sure to attend Alpha Gamma Delta’s events to support a great philanthropy! 

Maty recently graduated Summa Cum Laude from West Virginia Wesleyan College (WVWC), and she couldn’t be more excited to return to the Her Campus family as a member of the Community Team.  Maty’s passion for writing has guided her through most of her adult life, and it eventually brought her to to the Her Campus Chapter Network as a Style Blogger for Her Campus WVWC.
