Girls love the romantic gesture. We love everything sparkly, expensive and insanely romantic. And that’s because movies make everything out to be one hundred times better than they might actually be in real life. Do you know a guy that would write you love letters every day for a year? That’s 365 letters, I can count on two hands how many my boyfriend has written to me. Unfortunately there aren’t many men in the world named Noah Calhoun.

However just because men may not be as crazy romantic in real life as they are in the movies doesn’t mean we still cant enjoy and wish for those types of things to happen to us someday. So in wishful thinking here are some movie moments, some realistic and some maybe a little less, that I think everyone can agree they hope will happen to them someday.

  1. Kissing in the Rain- The Notebook.
  2. John Cusack standing outside the window with a boom box- Say Anything
  3. Having that special guy find you at a place that is special to you that you only mentioned to them once- Ashton Kutcher finding Cameron Diaz at the Lighthouse on Fire Island, New York. What Happens In Vegas
  4. Re-creating your first date together- The Vow
  5. Being serenaded with the song “Can’t take my eyes off of you” by Heath Ledger’s character Patrick Verona- 10 Things I Hate About You

And then there is one of my favorite romantic exchanges from Sweet Home Alabama, “What do you wanna marry me for anyway?” “So I can kiss you any time I want.” Any Nicholas Sparks book turned movie will give you the romantic story of boy meets girl and eventually they live happily ever after. It’s what every girl wants eventually and there is no reason we can’t have it. So keep watching your oh too addicting romantic comedies and drop a few hints to your significant other and maybe they’ll get the hint and make one of your dreams come true.
