Game days at WVU always prove to be interesting. Between the tailgates, the crowd and the many different types of people you encounter along the way, Morgantown always provides you with endless memories on Fall-time Saturdays where beer gets drank, and school pride is endlessly shown.

The Over-Enthusiastic Fan:

Decked out in blue and gold from head to toe, this fan is the overly boisterous variety that may or may not need a lesson in manners when it comes to the visitors’ team fans. We’ve all had that experience when we’ve seen a WVU fan be not-so-nice to an opposing team’s fan… Side note: Don’t be that fan.

The Chanter:

This fan is easier seen than heard, and usually more than willing to get the crowd a little rowdier. They’re the first person you hear shout out a “LETS GOOO…” to hear the surrounding people return with a “MOUNTAINEERS!” without hesitation.

Though for some reason, no matter who we’re playing “Eat Shit Pitt” seems to get thrown out there every once in a while too…Sorry Pitt.

The Fan That Needs to Slow Down:

Usually they’re one of the first people at the tailgate, and they immediately become the life of the party. But it’s usually short-lived. On game days, being the life of the party can only last so long, and sadly this fan doesn’t usually make it to kickoff. Remember friends; pace yourselves.

The Student Section Alumni:

In technical terms, this fan is graduated. That doesn’t stop them coming into town every weekend they can when we have a scheduled home game, borrowing a friends’ student ID and sitting in the student section. And who’s to blame them? Game days in Morgantown are the best kinds of days.

The Die-Hard Fans:

These are the people you meet with their school pride permanently expressed. Donned with their Mountaineer pride tattoos, these fans bleed blue and gold, and take school pride to another level. ‘No Ragrets’ guys.

Game days in Morgantown are a one-of-a-kind experience, and no matter who you meet they never fail to leave an impression. WVU students and alumni show their pride in many different ways these fateful Saturdays, and win or lose it’s safe to say we have some of the rowdiest and proudest fans out there.
