How to Make the Most for the Last Few Weeks of the Spring Semester

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at WVU chapter.

The last few weeks of the spring semester in college can become rough. It seems as if there is no time to have fun and relax when there is so much schoolwork occurring throughout the week, and resulting it being cut into your weekend. With students getting ready to pack up from school and go home for summer, here are a few ways to make the most of the last few weeks for the spring semester.

1. Concentrate on school as much as you can. This is important because once you have all of your schoolwork out of the way you are free to relax for a little and recover from all the hard work you have put into. Also, start studying for upcoming finals week in advance, this will give you an advantage to know the material before hand and saves you some time to also relax a little during finals week.

2. But also try to have as much fun as you can while you’re at it. It is important for a college student to have fun with their friends and take a little break from schoolwork. You deserve to treat yourself to some fun while you’re working hard on school. Since there is only a few more weeks left in the semester, make sure to savor good times with friends before you all separate and go back to your hometowns for the summer.

3. Take advantage of your college’s resources while you can. This means seeking your advisors help if needed or getting tutoring help in a class you are struggling in. Once summer hits you will not be able to have in-person contact with these resources which may have been helpful before students left for their hometowns. For instance, taking a summer class online can become tricky if you are struggling with it and cannot find help for a tutor in-person. Also, attending the last of school jobs and internship fairs may help you land a summer opportunity. This is not available at any other time during the summer to really see what companies are seeking from prospective employees.

4. Take one step at a time and be patient. You may feel as if your school life, social life, and extra curricular life are all piling up on top of each other at once and may become extremely overwhelmed. Just take a deep breath! Taking a break from responsibilities can help relax yourself and help you focus more on what needs to get done.

But on the brightside, you are almost done with this school year! Working hard and enjoying what is going on around you really pays off in the end of the year. Whether this year was a decent year or a terrible year, you can finish off strong with the last few weeks of spring semester and survive it completely.
