The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly of Morgantown Living

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at WVU chapter.

Morgantown is a great place to live full of great people and great times. Whether you live downtown, in a fraternity or sorority house or on Evansdale, it’s home to many people. Before settling into Motown, there are a few things a person should know.

Dorm Living

“It’s more fun to go out with your floor mates on the weekends if there is a mixture of guys and girls.” –Kara Bethke, Towers Resident

“I get to sleep in a little later than students who live elsewhere and I don’t have to rush to class.” –Dustin Seabolt, Resident of Summit

Greek Life House Living

“People leaving their laundry in the machines for days is my biggest pet peeve.” “There are thirty other people waiting to wash their clothes.” –Rachel Poe, Resident of the Alpha Phi house

“There’s always a sister in need at any given hour or the house mom is dragging a boy from an off limits area.” –Alex Buckner, Resident of the Alpha Phi House

“There’s always something going on and there’s always someone that wants to bother you, so staying focused is really important. –Matt Brow, Resident of the Sigma Nu House

Downtown House Living

” It’s nice to be downtown because you’re close to class. Even when it snows you can make it.” – Lisa Cardone, Resident of Spruce Street

” It’s a lot more expensive. You also sacrifice quality and parking even though you pay much more.” – Steve Thompson, Resident of Spruce Street

High Street Apartment Living

” You have to deal with the endless hobos asking you for money when you walk outside your apartment.” – Mike “Wook” Jefferys, Resident of High Street

” Best part is living close to all the bars. Especially in the winter.” – Mike Tattoli, Resident of High Street

Off Campus Apartment Complex Living

“The bad thing is it’s so far from downtown. I would usually have to drive to class or take the shuttle bus which is annoying.” – Vaness Molush, Resident of the District

” It’s nice because it’s quite. There’s a pool and gym too.” – Phil Hecker, Resident of West Run

Grant Street Housing

” It’s dirty from all the construction and it’s a long walk to anywhere downtown. Construction messes things up. But it’s right by Ashbrooke so thats cool” – Joe Dobrzanski, Resident of Grant Street
