If you’re looking for a cute, inexpensive date idea for this summer, look no further! Try one of these 8 date ideas for a fun day in the sun with your significant other!

1. Take a hike

Pick a day to explore the great outdoors with your S/O. Blackwater falls state park is a great place to go, as the hike isn’t terribly long and you get to see a beautiful waterfall at the end! Many states have state parks that offer no shortage of sights that are cute-picture-with-your-bae-worthy.

2. Hit up the drive-in movies

If your town doesn’t have a drive in theater, make your own! Pull a TV outside and grab a blanket, snacks, and your S/O and voilà! You have your very own movie theater, and you get to choose the movie.

3. Go to a carnival

Hit up a state fair with your S/O, enjoy some cotton candy and a kiss at the top of a Ferris wheel. How could anyone pass up holding hands with your bf/gf and playing those cheesy carnival games and listening to free music and watching fireworks?

4. Go stargazing

Throw some blankets and pillows into the back of a car and drive to an open field, enjoy the magic of watching the sun set and the stars come out. Try to make out constellations and find the north star!

5. Spend a day on the water

Take your bae kayaking, paddle boating, or just fishing from the shore. Most state parks have marinas where you can rent supplies for a low price.

6. Go berry picking

Summer is the perfect time to go berry picking, whether it be strawberries, raspberries, or blueberries, you can often get lots of berries for a low price.

7. Do a color run

Whether you and your S/O are athletic or just want something unique to do, try to find a color run around your area. Most are reasonably priced, and you can run or walk it. You’ll come out looking like rainbows, which makes for a really cute insta pic.

8. Plan a picnic

A day in the park can be very romantic, and all you need is a blanket and some food. Pack your S/O’s favorite foods, and sprawl out under the sun. When you’re done eating, you can walk around the park or go for desert at an ice cream shop.
