Five Unique Places to Study for Final Exams

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at WVU chapter.

Finals week is that time of the semester we all dread. All of a sudden you have run out of “I’ll just do that next week,” the stress pimples are real, and the library is almost worse than a gym after New Year’s Day. After spending countless hours at the library all semester long, getting a change of scenery while studying is sometimes all you need to make your study sesh a little more bearable.

1. Daisy Moon Bakery

This hidden gem is fairly new to Morgantown, and has the perfect atmosphere to make you feel relaxed and focused. The coolest thing about it? The entire menu is gluten free! You can indulge in a tasty treat to really get your brain working.

2. Farmhouse Café

If you really want to get away from campus, this is your study spot. Their coffee & espresso bar is open 7 AM-6 PM so you’ll have no issue getting that much-needed caffeine fix.

3. The Grind

Located right around the corner from the downtown library, this cozy little coffee shop is always packed with students sipping on their Instagram-worthy cappuccinos. It’s also conveniently attached to the Book Exchange, so if your pen runs out of ink or you need some more index cards, there’s no need to panic!

4. The Evansdale Crossing

How about studying outside for a change? The Crossing offers plenty of seating on its outdoor patio so you can enjoy some fresh air and take in the Morgantown views while you work.

5. Blue Moose Café

The best place to grab a cup of coffee and dive into study mode. Set up your laptop on one of the small tables, and you’ll be focused for hours.

So, you should definitely skip the over-crowded, boring library and check out one of these awesome places to study. Go kick butt on finals, ladies!

Hi ladies and gents, my name is Mel, Melanie if you're feelin' fancy. I'm a senior studying advertising, political science and fashion at West Virginia University. In addition to my studies, I am the Campus Correspondent for the WVU HC Chapter! You can hear me on the radio at U92 FM reporting the news and hosting morning shows. If I'm not there, I'm most likely at the local Panera eating my body weight in broccoli cheddar soup or writing about the daily, awkward encounters I experience. I represenative of the college of media as an ambassador and the prez of the magazine club. Oversized sweatshirts and jean on jean are my aesthetics. Lover, not a fighter unless you tell me Joe Jonas wasn't the best Jonas. Laters, baby.
