1.  Football season – the only time of the year that you are okay with waking up at 7 am on a Saturday morning to start tailgating, and when I say 7 am.. don’t worry you still won’t even be one of the first ones out there tailgaiting.  A WVU fan is the truest, most dedicated type of fan there is!

2. Blue hole – once WVU students see the slightest bit of sun; this is where they all run to.. well.. here and Wonder Falls where you can jump off of a 30 foot waterfall into a river. This place really is, Wild and Wonderful!

3. Taco Tuesday at Fat’s – $2 Tacos and margaritas, what’s better?

4. President Gee – Who wouldn’t enjoy have a wvu loving, student caring, bow tie wearing President walking around campus and saying hello to everyone who looks his way?

5. Woodburn – if you’re feeling a little homesick, take a longer route to class and pass the most beautiful building on campus. That will for sure remind you why you chose the most beautiful place on earth!

6. Bent Wednesdays – as if there isn’t already enough to do Thursday, Friday and Saturday night at WVU, Bent Willey’s even makes even Wednesday nights enjoyable

7. Fall fest – our university makes leaving home after a long summer the easiest transition ever by bringing in some of the best artists to perform on the first day of classes!

8. Greek life – It’s the most fun you’ll ever have with the friends that you’ll never get rid of.

9. Mountaineer Maniacs – the BEST fan section in college sports.

10. Casa – perfect pit stop for some pizza on your way home from a night out.

11. “Country Roads” by John Denver – how many other schools have a song written about their state.. Imagine the ENTIRE student body and all the alumni singing this song all around campus, at bars and pubs, but most importantly this song errupting through the football stadium after a win.

12. Last but not least, because once you leave you can’t wait until you come back. Don’t lie.. we’ve seen all of your planners and know you have a countdown marked until the first day you’ll be back on campus.

I am originally from Westchester, New York. I came to WVU for my undergrad in Strategic Communications with an emphasis on Public Relations and a minor in Sports Communication. My involvment on campus includes blogging for Her Campus, a sister of Alpha Phi, the assistant director of the media team on the Mountaineer Maniacs executive board and lastly, an athletic communications intern with the WVU Athletic Communications office. I will be graduating in May of 2017 and I am looking forward to getting started with my future career in Journalism and Public Relations!
I grew up in Charleston, West Virginia. Growing up here I knew there was a possibility of going to West Virginia University my entire life. Although I decided to start my college career at the University of Kentucky, those country roads led me back to WVU in the spring of my sophomore year. This was also the point when I decided to establish myself as a Broadcast Journalist student. Since this point I have strived to become the best possible journalist I can be. I am currently working as a weekend reporter for WDTV-Channel 5 in Clarksburg, West Virginia. Prior to receiving this position, I worked as an intern with WCHS-tv/FOX11, in the summer of 2014, where I learned critical editing, interviewing, writing, and speaking skills. I worked closely with anchors, reporters, editors, directors, producers, and even the web team. Aside from the television industry, I am the Campus Correspondent for the West Virginia University Chapter of the online entertainment magazine, Her Campus. Another position I currently hold is the Social Media Chair of WVU’s Radio Television Digital News Association Chapter. In the Fall of 2012, I became a sister of the Alpha Phi Fraternity, in which I held the position of ‘Big Sister Chairman.’ My other passions include horse back riding, scuba diving, being outdoors, and running. I am very adventurous and I try to stay well rounded. My goal in life is to live life to the fullest and be the best possible version of myself. My ultimate goal would be to earn a spot as a reporter/anchor for Fox News, New York. I plan to graduate in December of 2016 and look forward to my future.
