3 NYFW-Inspired Trends to Bring into Your Fall/Winter Wardrobe

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at WPUNJ chapter.

It has been 3 days since New York Fashion Week has ended, and yet I still have goosebumps from the outstanding collections showcased throughout the week-long event. For those who missed out, NYFW 2016 is an extraordinary week filled with out-of-this-world designs, bursts of creativity, and a sneak-peek of next season’s trends. Although Fall NYFW solely focused on the spring/summer season, there are 3 trends shown throughout Fashion Week that could be incorporated into your looks in order to be “ahead of the game” and provide yearly use!

  1. Nude:

Ever heard of the saying “Nude is the New Black”? Dennis Basso’s line fully demonstrated this expression as he used different shades of nude in his designs. Instead of reaching for those black booties, try something new and dip into the 50 shades of nude this season! It will bring a subtle pop need for your fall/winter wardrobe

Vibrant Colors:

Leave your dark clothes in the dust and allow vibrant colors to warm up the cold! Designers Rozalia Bot, Catch Michelle, and Betty James showcased their enthusiasm for bright colors throughout their fashion show. Therefore, bringing a turquoise trench-coat or lime green heels into your fall/winter wardrobe will allow you to shine and stand out from the crowd!

Floral:

Don’t discriminate against the classic florals in the wintertime. Use Tony Burch’s funky floral designs as inspiration and mix it up with your neutrals! It adds a cool, earthy sense into your style. Pair a floral button-down skirt with a long-sleeve nude bodysuit to set individuality among others. The possibilities are truly endless and such a great way of elongating your spring and summer pieces long after the chill settles in.

Remember- experiment and unlock your creative side is the key for to-die-for looks for this season! Have fun with these looks- see which trend aligns with your personal style!
