Make Your Morning a Relaxing Experience
We’ve all been there. The alarm goes off 25 minutes too late, or the coffee machine is broken and you slept on your neck wrong to the point where you can barely move it, oh, and it’s a Monday.
Here are some quick ways to make sure your morning gets off to a good start, giving the rest of your day a fighting chance.
Wake up 15 minutes earlier.
I know what you’re thinking. What!? Why would I waste 15 minutes of precious sleep? To stretch. Stretching will wake up your body, get you going for the day and give you time to wake up instead of hitting that annoying snooze button that always goes off too soon. If you’re a little more adventurous, you can even try a quick morning workout!
Treat yourself.
It’s getting warmer, meaning the walk to the Bernhard Center might be worth a deluxe coffee right? If you have a few extra dollars to spend every once in awhile, get a coffee from Biggby Coffee. It saves you the trouble of having to make it yourself; it will wake you up and get your morning going.
Take a break at the fountain.
It’s still a little chilly out but soon they’ll be turning on the fountain by Miller Auditorium and it’s a great place to sit and relax for a few minutes before that dreaded early morning class. So even if you didn’t have the drive to get a coffee at Biggby’s you can grab one at Sprau Tower and sit in the sun and pretend you’re at the beach.
Make a morning playlist.
While getting ready in the morning have a morning playlist going. Something that will get you going and wake you up. Having some good paced music will keep you on track instead of lagging around, and then you’ll be able to stay on schedule the rest of the day.
Have your most important meal.
Breakfast is important and those Slimfast shakes aren’t your best choice. If you have time, make some eggs and toast. Eggs have plenty of protein to keep you energized and full for a long day of class, or even a bowl of cereal will be better than a breakfast at McDonald’s.
Hopefully these few things, that are easier than they sound, will help you get through your morning and your day, and in relation the rest of your semester.
