Family Weekend Restaurants Away from Campus

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at WM chapter.

Not sure where to go to eat in Williamsburg during Family Weekend? Want to try something different than the Trellis or Blue Talon? Here are some suggestions to help you!

1.     Waypoint Grill

Located off of Route 199, this restaurant focuses mainly on seafood from the Chesapeake Bay area, as well as locally grown produce. Dinner entrees run from $18 to $38.

Address: 1480 Quarterpath Rd/Williamsburg/VA/23185

Phone: (757) 220-222

2.     Opus 9 Steakhouse

This New Town restaurant is the place to go to if you’ve been craving a steak. While entrees can be a bit pricy (think about $50 for filet mignon), the quality alone makes it worth it for a special occasion. They also offer a more inexpensive lunch option.

Address: 5143 Main Street/Williamsburg/VA/23185

Phone: (757) 645-4779

3.     Pierce’s Pitt BBQ

For a good, informal southern experience, try this BBQ joint, a Williamsburg tradition since 1971. Expect a line; this place is popular with both tourists and locals.  The J.C. Special, a pulled pork sandwich accompanied by fries, a drink, and a cookie, costs about $9.

Address: 447 East Rochambeau/Williamsburg/VA/23188

Phone: (757) 565-2955
