What is one thing that someone would be surprised to learn about you? I love The Onion. In my spare time, I enjoy trying to write satire to entertain friends and family.
What is your favorite thing about William & Mary? My favorite thing about William & Mary is the sense of community on-campus. I think students are generally very supportive of one another, and I appreciate that we are able to collaborate with one another inside and outside the classroom. Even though we go to a competitive school, most students here try to lift one another up; I like that we encourage each other to reach our goals without resorting to cut-throat measures!
If you were President of the College for one day what would you do? I would invite Tara Houska to come speak about indigenous issues, particularly the #NoDAPL movement and the “Not Your Mascots” campaign.
What is one piece of advice you would give your freshman self? Attend as many on-campus events as you can! I wish I’d gone to hear more speakers freshmen year; the College invites some really neat people to come speak, and I wish I had taken advantage of that early on in my time here. One of my favorite memories from this past year was hearing Mallory Ortberg speak.
