Bloggers freak out over Lena Dunham’s teeny shorts, honey boo boo gets a bodyguard, & Amber Tamblyn ties the knot in the cutest ‘wedding in the woods’.
So as an avid follower of numerous blogs, I got slammed with an image and irate statements from bloggers all over the blogosphere this week. This onslaught was due Lena Dunham going to an event in a loose shirt and micro shorts. This outfit showed her thighs and bloggers were all atwitter because they believed she wasn’t wearing pants and that a person of her size shouldn’t dress the way she did. Lena Dunham who is the creator of the hit HBO show Girls which I’m a huge fan of btw, responded to the fashion bloggers telling them on twitter (the platform that all celebrities now use to unleash their indignation) to “get used to it because I am going to live to be 100, and I am going to show my thighs every day till I die”. Lena also said that the only reason people were angered by her tiny shorts was because of her size. She went on further to state that if it were an actress like Olivia Wilde in the same micro shorts, people would call her outfit cute. I agree with Lena’s statement seeing as it wasn’t anybody’s business what she was wearing. The girl is the creator, writer and director of one the best shows airing on TV so I think that there is no need to focus attention on her shorts. The series is a dramedy that chronicles the experiences of a close group of friends in their early twenties in New York City. Check it out here on HBO go
Okay so we have all heard of the newest stars to hit the reality TV scene right? Well if you haven’t, then let me introduce you to honey boo boo. Here comes honey boo boo is a TLC reality TV show which follows the life of pageant girl Alana AKA honey boo boo and her family. They shot to fame when Alana was featured in an episode of toddlers and tiaras. Since then, this Georgia family has fascinated viewers. There have been mixed reactions to the show with some viewers calling it exploitative and some calling it the best thing in the reality TV show circuit. Apparently some people really have a passion for the show because according to the daily mail there have been threats to kidnap the 7 yr. old Alana. This resulted in her mom hiring a 24/7 bodyguard to ensure the safety of her daughter. Let’s all hope that these were merely overzealous fans and that honey boo boo and her family can go back to their reality TV lives.
Amber Tamblyn, one of the stars in the sisterhood of the travelling pants movie tied the knot on October 6th in the cutest wedding in the woods! According to the mirror, Tamblyn married comedian David Cross after the pair had been together for 4 years. Two of her co-stars from the movie, America Ferrera and Blake Lively, were in attendance with Blake attending with her recent hubby Ryan Reynolds. Questlove from the roots also attended and took great pictures of the woodsy wedding and posted them on twitter. Yay for cute weddings!
