‘My Favorite Things’ Gift Ideas

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wisconsin chapter.

I love buying gifts for people, but it is also super stressful. For one thing, I feel like everything is so expensive— way beyond my college student budget. And on top of it, some people are supremely difficult to shop for. Like ‘I don’t even know where to get them a gift card to’ difficult. So I have compiled a small list of my favorite things that would make affordable (under $25) and fun gifts— I’m pretty sure are crowd-pleasers. So here are six of my favorite things that I have either given to others or myself as gifts because they’re just that wonderful.

1. Cocobesos [$4.25-$8.00]

This all-natural, coconut oil based lip balm will be your absolute new favorite. It heals your winter lips without feeling waxy. Plus, they come in super unique and refreshing flavors like London Fog (my personal favorite) and Eucalyptus. Even more adorable, you can buy them in singles or in ‘his & her’ packs. Perfect stocking stuffer for anyone on your list! AND it’s already gift-wrapped so this will actually require zero work from you. Also, it’s a company started by fellow college students, so it’s a great way to show some love for their entrepreneurship project.

2. Aveda Hand Cream [$24.00]

I know it’s winter before it even gets cold out— my hands get super dry pretty much overnight. Ugh. But this hand cream is a life saver! And it smells like zen relaxation so that’s an added bonus.

3. Moroccan Oil [$15.00]

It smells nice, it makes your hair shiny, and it keeps static away! Static is the bane of my winter existence, but don’t worry, this  product works like a charm. Everyone should probably have some of this on hand, unless you like having your hair stick to your face, your hands, your scarf, etc.

4. J Crew passport holder [$11.50]

For the jetsetters in your life! Everyone I know has been abroad or is planning on going abroad at some point, so this is exceptionally useful. It’s perfect for traveling in style.Check it out here.

5. Anthropologie Coffee Mugs [$12.00]

I am a huge fan of coffee mugs. I’m pretty sure I’ve given a coffee mug to someone every single year. Some even say that it’s my gift of choice (some have told me to buy no more, but I don’t listen to such nonsense). They’re perfect for coffee, tea, ice cream, soup, pasta, cereal, coffee, some more coffee… you get my point. They’re great. Plus, these ones are pretty.

I hope these provide you with some inspiration that will make your gift shopping a jolly old time. Have an absolutely lovely holiday season!
