Tips to Get through Finals Week

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Williams chapter.

Summer vacation is so very close! After a long winter, that basically ended at the end of April for us Northeasterners, we are more than ready for the warm weather. But, we still have one more pesky hurdle to get over, FINALS WEEK (*Insert dramatic music here*). Here’s a few tips on how to get through finals week with your mental health intact.   1.    Eat Healthily I know that it becomes really difficult to eat healthy around finals week. We grab every unhealthy snack we can find, skip meals to study more, and hunker down in our favorite study space. However, our bodies still need to get all the vital nutrients it needs so that we can do our best.

2.  Create a Study Schedule It is a good idea to plan out what you should study at a given time so that you are organized. That way you can make sure you have time to get to every subject.

3.   Get Enough Sleep  This is very important! We need sleep to function properly (trust me, I know) and retain all the information that we are cramming into our brains.    4.    Stay Active Go outside, take a walk, and enjoy the warm weather! Breathe in the fresh air! Exercise! One word, endorphins. It will make you feel better and give you the energy you need to finish studying up for your tests.   5.    Take Breaks Give yourself time to relax a few times per day! Even if it is just 15 minutes. Do something fun that you really like. If you’re a fan of the longer breaks, maybe watch a movie. You deserve it! You need to give yourself time to refresh your brain.

One more thing, remember that you can get through this and that you are capable of passing and completing your finals! Believe in yourself. You are one step closer to summer vacation!
