Where To Shop For The Charity Ball

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Western chapter.

The Charity Ball is Western’s biggest formal event that engages student’s in a fabulous night out in support of a great cause. This year’s annual Charity Ball theme is ‘Glitter and Frost’ and like always the Charity Ball has provided their very own lookbook (http://charityball.ca/lookbook.html) to help you figure out the perfect outfit. But, if you’re still stuck on what to wear, here are a few ideas of where to get the perfect attire for an amazing night:

If you’re in the downtown London area, check out:

The ‘Angela” From Lolita

  • Lovesick – This shop had a lot of vintage clothing items ranging from dresses, to shoes, to accessories. Lovesick is a local London store found on 723 Richmond St. with reasonable prices for fantastic one-of-a-kind pieces!
  • Lolita – Also found on Richmond, is a local shop that has a variety of unique and beautiful pieces. If you want to match this year’s theme then check out the TFNC collection which includes a lot of sequin and glitter pieces.

If you happen to be at Masonville, keep your eye out for:

  • Le Chateau – Check -out The Little Black Dress collection at Le Chateau. Nothing says elegant like the perfect little black dress matched with a thick silver necklace or pearls for a more classic look. A personal favorite is the Bloused Bodice Cocktail dress – a little black dress with a small silver and glitzy belt, match with some sparkly pumps to pull together that perfect mix of Glitter and Frost.
  • Guess – While you’re at Masonville, check out Guess for a beautiful Gina Half- Sleeve Lace Dress. The Ellie Dress is also a fantastic piece – the champagne coloured dress continues to prove its elegance when matched with a nude or glitter heel.
  • H&M – For a more casual style dress
  • Jacob – for a classic black lace evening dress or a simple yet elegant empire waist dress

These stores are guaranteed to inspire your inner red carpet celebrity. Glamour isn’t just reserved for the rich and famous – show off how fabulous you are in your new dress. See you at Charity Ball!

Rida is a fourth year student at the University of Western Ontario and is extremely excited about the opportunity to bring Her Campus to London! She recently changed her major from Finance to English Literature after finally realizing what she wanted to do with her life. Having spent her whole life in the Middle East (Dubai and Saudi Arabia) Rida had no choice but to grow up a shopaholic! Having shifted from the desert to the great ice box that is Canada, she still finds it difficult to adjust to the freezing weather. In her spare time, Rida likes reading, watching way too many shows, stuffed crust pizza and,of course, shopping! Her aspirations are to one day live in Paris and be a writer for Vogue.
