It’s that time of year again, after a relatively mild winter here in Western Ontario we have been hit again with another snow storm in mid February. These low temperatures can wreak havoc on one’s skin and suck out all the moisture. Don’t worry though, here are some easy and inexpensive face masks to help with dry skin and keep you looking good throughout midterms, even if you’re not feeling so great!

Face Masks
This mask involves 1 grated carrot with one egg yolk and a teaspoon of cottage cheese. Add a couple of drops of vitamin E oil. Apply this to face for 20 minutes and wash off, then continue your normal skin care regime.

Mix 1 tbsp of olive oil and 2 tbsp of fresh cream. Apply this to your face and wash it off with warm water, then continue your normal skin care regime.

I found this beauty mask from the Daily Green and loved the fact that it was easy and I had the ingredients on hand already. This mask consists of 2 simple common items which are; 1 egg white and half of a lemon strained. (I only had concentrated lemon juice and found that it worked well). Beat the egg and lemon juice together and apply to face (avoid eyes!!). Leave this on for 30 minutes and wash off with warm water.

….Don’t forget about the lips!!!! Your poor puckers take quite the punch during these months as well, and because chapped lips aren’t cute, here is a really easy and quick remedy to relieve your pout.

Doesn’t get much easier then this; take a small amount of coarse sugar with a few drops of water. Apply this mixture to your lips and gently rub it in. After application wash it off with lightly warmed water and apply Vaseline or whatever you have on hand to those babies. You should be nice and smooth after that. Voilaaaaaa!!!!!

Rida is a fourth year student at the University of Western Ontario and is extremely excited about the opportunity to bring Her Campus to London! She recently changed her major from Finance to English Literature after finally realizing what she wanted to do with her life. Having spent her whole life in the Middle East (Dubai and Saudi Arabia) Rida had no choice but to grow up a shopaholic! Having shifted from the desert to the great ice box that is Canada, she still finds it difficult to adjust to the freezing weather. In her spare time, Rida likes reading, watching way too many shows, stuffed crust pizza and,of course, shopping! Her aspirations are to one day live in Paris and be a writer for Vogue.
