TEDxWesternUBy April 5, 2013 - 8:00am TEDxWesternU is an independently organized evet bringing Western stduents TED talk videos and live speakers. TED brings togteher the world’s leading thinkers to give talks in 18 minutes or less. These talks are then posted online for anyone to access for free at TED.com. Some of the most notable TED speakers include Bill Gates, Sir Richard Branson, Isabel Allende, Jane Goodall, Gordon Brownand many others. You could be one of the lucky 100 students chosen to attend the event at the Paul Davenport Theatre or access the talk through a live stream online and on campus. Tickets are $30. Charity Ball 2013 - Glitter and FrostBy February 2, 2013 - 9:00pm The Charity Ball is Western’s largest formal event that promises all students an amazing night in support of a great cause. This year all proceeds from the event will go to the Wait List Clinic at the Canadian Mental Health Association. The wait List Clinic’s goal is to provide programs and services for individuals living with mental illness so that they can achieve and sustain independence in the community. In addition to supporting a great cause, the event itself is a night to remember and one that every Western student should experience at least once. This year’s theme is glitter and frost and is the perfect excuse to dress up. Tickets are $30 for an individual or $25 for a group of ten and can be bought online or at Western Connections.... |
