Ontario Summer Vacations for the Signs

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Waterloo chapter.

Now that the Winter term is over, we’re all ready for the sunshine and for the summer, so I thought I would figure out some ideal summer vacation spots for each of the sun signs!

Aquarius (January 20 – February 18)

Niagara Falls

(Source)

Aqua girls will love Niagara Falls for all the crazy quirky things you can do, besides seeing the falls. There’re haunted houses, arcades, and a Ripley’s Believe it or Not museum that will be just the thing for the quirky Aquarian mind. The best part about all these things is that you can bring a friend, and then head to a wine tasting, since the Niagara region is so well known for it!

(Source)

Pisces girls, with their love of music, will have their hearts bursting with all of the amazing Ontario music festivals. There’re tons of people around for your bubbly, bright self to interact with. There are indie, rock, country, electronic festivals, and more for your choosing. You’ll also have tons of fun getting your outfit together for the big event!

Aries (March 21 – April 19)

Toronto Blue Jays / Toronto FC game

(Source)

As an Aries, you love action. Depending on your preference, either a baseball or soccer game would be ideal for you! You’ll love the huge crowds cheering like crazy, and the competitive nature of the sports will bring out the best in you. You’ll feed on the crowd’s energy as you cheer for your favourite team!

Taurus (April 20 – May 20)

Stratford, Ontario

Taurus gals are independent and down to earth, making them the perfect sign to go to Stratford to see a play at the Stratford Festival. The details for the 2018 season are out and this season includes plays such as The Tempest, Rocky Horror Show, and To Kill a Mockingbird to name a few. It’s amazing talent on a Southwestern Ontario stage and there are different sizes of theatres depending on your comfort level.

Gemini (May 21 – June 20)

London, Ontario

(Source)

Geminis love music and expressing themselves, which is more fun when you have their dual personality. London is such a party city that you’ll love all the nightclubs and bars that you can choose from. There are your more traditional pubs like Molly’s, which has cheap triples on Thursday nights, the UWO favourite Ceeps, and the classic Barking Frog. There are so many options on and near Richmond row that both of your personalities will have their fill!

Cancer girls, with their emotional and artistic souls, would love to visit the Art Gallery of Ontario in Toronto. Take a bff, your boo, or head there by yourself to take in some amazing artwork from around the world. You’ll be able to imagine yourself in different paintings and sculptures and enjoy a day with your head in the clouds.

Leo (July 23 – August 22)

As a Leo, you love having fun with your friends. Fill up a car with some of your bffs, grab your bikinis, and head out to Grand Bend! This beach has a bunch of cute shops from jewellery to custom tees to ice cream, so make sure to bring some cash. There are lifeguards on the beach and cabins to rent out if you want to make a weekend out of it.

Intelligent Virgo gals will love the Royal Ontario Museum. There are 5 different ongoing exhibitions as well as daily events for people of all ages. Because of your patience, you’ll be able to get the most out of the experience compared to other signs. You’ll love immersing yourself into different exhibits and you’ll feel like you travelled around the world when you’re done.

Libra (September 23 – October 22)

Vaughan Mills

Libras, with all their energy, will love heading to Vaughn Mills. It’s considered to be one of the largest shopping centres in Canada. Scorpio (October 23 – November 21)

Muskoka

In Muskoka, there are so many unique things for Scorpios to do. It’s known as Canada’s cottage country due to gorgeous views of the forests and the water from the cottages, hotels, and inns. There are plenty of outdoor activities including canoeing, hiking, and swimming, which are great for ambitious gals like you. It’s a beautiful place to unwind before a hectic September comes too quickly.

Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)

Ottawa

(Source)

Sags are firey and love to travel, making them the perfect sign to go on a road trip to our nation’s capital this summer. Sure it’s a bit of a drive, but it’s totally worth it. There are so many things going on around there as well as the overall beauty of the city to behold. The Canadian Tulip Festival, the TD Ottawa Jazz Festival, and of course Canada Day are just a few of many events that are planned for this summer, so why not make that playlist and head on up there.

Capricorn (December 22 – January 19)

Pinery Provincial Park

(Source)

Capricorns are ambitious and they love the challenge of leaving tech behind to “rough it” at the Pinery for a few days. The simple life of camping really shows you what’s important, and allows for some self-reflection when you have the hundreds of stars shining from above and with the crackling fire beside you. It will be so much fun cooking over the open fire and sleeping under the stars with the sound of the water nearby that you’ll feel refreshed when you get back.
