Galentine’s Day Date Ideas in Waterloo

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Waterloo chapter.

Happy Galentine’s Day Waterloo!

For those who don’t know, February 13th has been deemed “Galentine’s Day” by Leslie Knope on Parks and Recreation. The purpose of this day is to spend time with all your girls and celebrate your love for their friendship. So call up your best friend and take them on one of these dates!

Skating and Coffee Date:

Waterloo has several outdoor rinks all over town so take the opportunity to enjoy the winter weather and go skating. Then, try a coffee shop you’ve never been to before. You never know, you might just find your new favourite.

Bowling and Pizza:

If your date is on the sportier side, you may want to take them out for some friendly competition. There are several bowling alleys all throughout Waterloo, even one that has a Boston Pizza attached!

Movie Night:

This one can involve heading out to the theatre for the night or just staying in and cuddling up on the couch. Either go out and see that new movie, or put on your pyjamas and binge-watch your favourite romantic comedies.

Sweet Snacks:

Nothing says love more than a sugar rush. Skip dinner and take your date straight to dessert. Here in Waterloo, you can check out Menchie’s if you’re craving frozen yogurt. Or, if you’re looking for something a little more extravagant, take a visit to Symposium Cafe. I highly recommend ordering cake!

Stay In:

Last but not least, you and your girls can always stay in for the night. While staying at home it can give you the opportunity to try a Valentine’s themed craft and check out some new recipes.
