There are tons of fun options for a night out but if you haven’t been to one of these 4 bars below, make an effort to check them out!
1. The Bombshelter Pub
Located in the SLC of the University of Waterloo, Bombshelter, known as Bomber, is an excellent social hub for Waterloo students to hang out at night. Bomber Wednesday features great electropop music and also has an great patio when it’s warm outside. Sometimes it’s so popular the line wraps around the Great Hall!
Cover is only $3 for Waterloo students, so I would definitely check it out.
P.S. it has great food if you’re looking for something to eat between classes during the day.
2. Phil’s Nightclub
This is for the people that really want to dance the night off and get lit! Phil’s Grandson’s Nighclub, or more commonly known as Phils, has been known for having the cheapest drinks out there ($2.25 for a shot!) and is definitely one of the most popular places. Beware though, lineups are really long especially on their popular Wednesday nights – where they play hip-hop, R&B, and reggae.
If that’s not your scene, it’s also open for Sunday Night Retro, Feel Good Friday and Ladies Night Saturday!
3. Brixton Social
Brixton is one of the closest nightclubs to the University, and it’s pretty common to see long lineups of their Thursday student nights. If you’re looking for a higher-end venue with an excellent patio area, then Brixton is the place for you. Cover is $5 and drinks are a bit more expensive than other places, but the venue and class in Brixton Social is of much better quality. An upside is that there’s a Burger King right beside Brixton, so if you need some munchies after a night out, there’s something close by!
4. Night School
Night School is one of the newest nightclubs in Waterloo. Located near the Uptown Waterloo core, Night School is a great place to be if you want to visit other places before or right after dancing away. It’s close to a lot of bars and pubs, as well as many late-night restaurants to go to after. It’s especially popular on Student Tuesday since there’s no cover!
