UW Drama: Secret in the WingsBy April 23, 2011 - 2:06pm "Combined in fragments, lesser-known European fairy tales take us on a journey fraught with primeval fears and desires. A frightened little girl pleads with her callous parents not to leave her at home with the neighbor next door. This "Ogre” and storyteller becomes her guide and ours, distracting us with tales marvelous and cruel. With striking imagery and a contemporary, comic edge, stories flow together to create a vivid fantasy world inspiring fear, wonder, and at last a strange catharsis." READ MORE |

The Business of Bras: The FULL CoverageBy April 23, 2011 - 1:55pm Designed for ladies in the larger-boobie range, the full-coverage bra provides maximum support and coverage to the wearer. Usually, the boobs are covered all the way and have a thicker strap. Many confuse full-coverage bras as granny bras or old-timey. Although both of these may qualify as full-coverage, most of the modern FC bras are similar to the push up, just without the "LOOK AT MY GIRLS. LOOK THEM RIGHT IN THE FACE" part. Pro: Very comfortable. You also don't have to worry about anything falling out! READ MORE |

Girlfriend Time: How to Throw an Informal Clothing SwapBy April 16, 2011 - 2:40pm Once every season or so, I get off my behind and clean my closet/room until it sparkles kind of thoroughly. I usually end up with a pile of clothes stuffed in a bag that's too small labeled "Goodwill". Now, while I don't want any of you to neglect Goodwill donations (it's a great company!), I must say there is a more fun alternative. This, my fellow females, is called a clothing swap. READ MORE |

Alumni We Love: Kyle MacLachlanBy April 16, 2011 - 1:29pm Sigh. Oh, I'm sorry. I was just admiring Kyle MacLachlan. Or as I like to call him "the Campus Cutie to rule all Campus Cuties". Kyle MacLachlan is from Yakima (I know there are lots of you Yakimans (Yakimites? Yakimanians?) going to UW!) and graduated from the University of Washington in 1982. He studied drama here and oh boy did it pay off! Kyle got his start in David Lynch's 1984 film, Dune. He went on to partner with Lynch for many memorable projects including Blue Velvet and my personal favorite, the television series Twin Peaks. Agent Cooper! READ MORE |
