How and when did you first get involved with Armour?
I started to get involved with Armour my sophomore year. I had always admired the magazine and finally started to have enough time to commit.
Have you always been interested in fashion/when did you know you were interested in it?
I’ve always doodled all over everything and loved playing dress-up, and eventually I realized that the combo of the two can be an actual career! Fashion can definitely be a controversial industry, but there’s a lot of opportunity for it to be positive and impactful.
What are your responsibilities as director of design?
Basically, I oversee everything that’s designed. I do the layout of the print magazine, and make sure all collateral is in line with the Armour brand aesthetic. We spent all summer working on the rebrand of the magazine, which we’re all really excited about! Armour now has a new logo and personality. Stay tuned for the new print magazine.
What do you love about Armour?
It’s a group of creative and passionate people who all genuinely care about the publication. We pour our heart into making this thing, and it’s really cool to see people reading and reacting to the finished product.
Who is your favorite graphic designer?
Hard to narrow down, but I really admire the work of Susan Kare, Paul Rand, Jessica Hische, and Milton Glaser…too many?
Do you one day want to work in the industry of design?
100%. Not sure about the type of company exactly, but the plan is to be a graphic designer somewhere.
