How to Pretend You’re Going to Coachella Not WILD

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wash U chapter.

As we all know WILD is coming up and we could not be more excited (except for those that aren’t basic like me and were team A$AP Rocky). At the same time, we can’t help but wish we were as cool as Camryeezus at Coachella. So, here are a couple of ways to make your home friends think you’re at Coachella not the Quad.

  1. Wear a Flower Crown

Did you even festival if you’re not wearing a flower crown? Unclear. The only way to truly prove you’re at a dope festival is through headgear. Whether that be a crown, jewelry, a headband, a cool hat, a ferret… get creative! It is the first and most essential step to your Coachella experience.

2. Take Photos in a Tent

We’re blessed enough to have the most random, unexplained tent set up on Mudd Field right now so take advantage!! At least 60% of your photos must be taken in a tent to prove that this is legit. Extra points if you can photoshop a Red Bull logo into the background to prove the event was big enough to be sponsored.

3. Cool Sunglasses

No one should see your eyes… or your face for that matter. I don’t care if the sun is not visible, you must be wearing huge sunglasses. Between the sunglasses and the headgear, your face should not be seen. This detail is also extremely helpful for when you upload sketchy photos with Kendall Jenner for you Facebook album.

4. Blow up Social Media

The last step to solidify your “Coachella” weekend. After WILD, make sure you upload EVERYTHING. Also, I know #tbt is a little out of fashion, but I hear it’s on the come-back. You must make sure everyone knows you were too entranced by the life changing experience to upload photos for two weeks and this major upload is just coming in late. Tag Coachella in every photo and make sure to reference it as much as possible.
