How to Entertain Yourself When You’re By Yourself

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wash U chapter.

1. Catch Up On Netflix

Wow; there are so many good things on Netflix this month…I can’t even begin to tell you about it. Aside from recently adding the best throwbacks known to mankind such as Picture This!, Sleepover, and A Cinderella Story, Netflix also has the best documentaries to indulge in when you’re in that ~mood~. Namely, the Amanda Knox Case, the OJ Simpson Trial (can you tell I have a type lol), Zootopia, and if you want a really calming film to doze off to yet still be questionably interested in, watch Jiro Dreams of Sushi. Because who isn’t soothed by the close ups of buttery salmon and Japanese meditation music. (Seriously watch this, it’s great, ILY sushi.)

2. Learn A New Hobby

Who says you can’t learn a new talent just because you’re already in college? My personal favorite pastime includes ordering very challenging “Paint-By-Number” paintings on Amazon that I’ll likely never finish (but it’s okay because it is still definitely just the most fun thing to do alone). Anybody? Nobody? Ok cool me neither.

3. EAT

Food is your friend. Always. I don’t care what Jillian Michaels said to her Biggest Loser contestants. At the end of the day, it’s just you and your food. Whether you prefer to stuff your entire face with Winslow’s cinnamon rolls (ugh yes) or nibble on the infamous fried mac’ n’ cheese balls a la Cheesecake factory (a MUST try), you will never be disappointed.  HAPPY FEASTING
