Five Ways to Wear Fall’s Hottest Trend: Velvet

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wash U chapter.

As the weather starts to get colder, velvet has been popping up in many runway shows. Here are five ways to wear the hottest trend this season, from every price point.

1. Forever 21 – Pinafore Dress

Combine your favorite summer style, overalls, with this season’s hottest fabric. This velvet overall dress is perfect for a day out shopping or around campus. Put it over a tank or a sweater when the weather gets colder. Light pink is also super popular right now!

1. Zara – Sneakers

These velvet sneakers are perfect for fall. They’re the perfect pop of color to jeans and a white t-shirt. Or pair them with a dress for an edgier look. For just under $40, these are the perfect addition to your fall closet.

3. Bloomingdales – Blazer

Dress up any outfit with this classic blazer. The velvet gives it the perfect twist for this fall! Layer it over a t-shirt for a casual look or try it with your favorite fall button down for that classic professional style.

4. Nordstrom – Handbag

I love this Miu Miu handbag for fall 2016! Again, the light pink color is popping up everywhere right now. Change the light pink in for the neutrals in your closet to amp up any outfit.

5. Free People – Bomber Jacket

Bomber jackets are everywhere right now… check out this jacket to see how velvet can give your bomber jacket a unique twist. This jacket is the perfect substitute for a leather jacket this fall. It is much more cozy need mention how much more affordable!
