Eating Disorder Awareness WeekBy February 25, 2013 - 1:00pm Eating Disorder Awareness Week (EDAW) will be held from February 25th to March 1st to bring awareness to the student body about eating disorders and disordered eating. Reflections will be bringing to campus Carrie Arnold and Mary Laffey-Adams to speak. Carrie Arnold is a science writer and blogger/creator of EDbites.com, a blog about her experience with eating disorders and her stories of recovery. Lunar New Year Festival PerformanceBy February 8, 2013 - 8:00pm Start the Lunar New Year with a bang! Celebrate the biggest holiday in East Asian culture with a spectacular performance featuring a skit, fashion show, and dances ranging from water sleeves to Lion Dance, and Hip-hop to Hula. Support this completely WashU student run event, and you'll also be contributing to China Care- a philanthropy dedicated to providing life saving surgery to orphans in China. The performances are on Feb 8 (Friday) at 7PM and Feb 9 (Saturday) at 2PM and 7PM. The show is approximately two to two and a half hours long. More Fools Than Wise's Madrigal FeasteBy December 8, 2012 - 8:00pm Anyone looking to celebrate the end of classes with some medieval-style entertainment should check out Madrigal Feaste 2012, an annual performance by Wash U’s Premier Chamber and Jazz Ensemble, More Fools than Wise. This seasonal extravaganza features theatre, a cappella, and even a catered three-course dinner! This event will take place on main campus in the beautiful Umrath Formal Lounge this Saturday and Sunday, December 8th and 9th, at 7:00pm. Student tickets for the full experience are only $10 ($20 general) will be sold all week in the DUC from 11:00am-2:00pm and in Bear’s Den 6:00-8:00pm. “Peasant” seating—no dinner—is available for $6. Saturday dinner seating is already sold out, so get your ticket soon!... |
