Campus Celeb: Shannon Welsh

By Victoria Bliss
March 9, 2013 - 11:47am

Shannon Welsh may seem like your typical freshman (undecided major, pledging a sorority, close with her freshman floor, insert other freshman attributes here…) but this week’s campus celeb is anything but ordinary. Understated yet enthusiastic, Shannon has a passion for beekeeping (Yes, beekeeping. Hang in there with me.) that she wanted to share with the rest of campus. By Sydney Davis
February 3, 2013 - 11:30am

Say hello to Sonia Feldman, the under-wraps fashionista who is working hard to make a splash not only on campus, but also in the crazy world of social media.  She recently applied to a variety of interesting summer internships, and was put in charge of running the Instagram account for Muchness, a new participant in the waves of online merchandising sales. This being said, the girl works hard.  She loves Jewish deli food, driving her sexy Ford Fusion, reading, backpacking, and cheetahs. Let’s be real… What else could you ask for? Oh wait, she’s from Cleveland. Boom. READ MORE

Meet Chisom Uche. As a psych major, business minor, club basketball player, and member of Thurtene Honorary, this week’s campus celebrity is everywhere. You might recognize that friendly smile and air of confidence because, after all, everyone on campus seems to know this cutie. So what don’t you know about him? For starters, he can flare his nose, has a knack for making omelet sandwiches, and values a great personality over perfect looks (Lucky for him, he has both). READ MORE

By Grace Dowling
December 20, 2012 - 5:20pm

Melissa Tucker, class of ’16, is finishing up her first semester at WashU with a bang. While it's normal for freshmen to feel a little lost first semester, most do not have the guts to talk about just how confusing it can be – and Melissa does more than talk. She started a blog, Tuck This that details just what goes into being a freshman at WashU.  READ MORE

Renaissance Man Robert Landis

By Mary Reischmann
December 10, 2012 - 1:25pm

Wash U is an avid supporter of the arts, but few students are able to take such advantage of this fact as sophomore Robert Landis, who, with a little help from his Starbucks gold membership, manages to do it all. Launching himself into the theater department from Day 1 of college, Robert has appeared in the Performing Arts Department’s Hairspray (as a freshman) and numerous student theater projects as a talented actor, singer, and dancer. Robert can also be seen performing with his a cappella group, More Fools than Wise, and he has recently completed his time as Assistant Stage Manager for the PAD’s most recent show, The Night Season.
