10 Nail Polish Colors to Try for Fall

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wash U chapter.

Trying to figure out what color to paint your nails this season? Time to say goodbye to Fiji and hello to this fall’s color palette:

1. Navy Blue

Navy blue is a great color for fall. The blue tones make this dark shade fun and exciting.

2. Neutral Purple

This is the perfect transition color for the fall. It is still light enough to remind you of the summer, but the nice grey ish hue makes it great for cooler vibes.

3. Dark Purple

Wear this when you are ready for the transition into winter. The dark purple is a classic for both fall and winter seasons. Lincoln Park After Dark – shown in the top photo – is very dark but still has just the right amount of a purple tint.

4. Army Green

Army green is everywhere this fall and is bound to complement your entire fall wardrobe well. Try this lighter color by Butter or go for a darker shade.

5. Taupe

Taupe is a typical color for the fall and it’s especially big this year. People love it because it matches everything, it looks chic yet subtle, and is a lighter option out of the fall color palette.

6. Bright Red

In my book, every season is ~red nails season~. This color never goes out of style and can work for any time of the year. It’s reminiscent of apple picking and red leaves falling.

7. Dark Red

Dark red is a little harder to wear all year, but it’s perfect for the fall. This color is close to a maroon, which will go great with everyone’s army green jackets this fall.

8. Slate Blue

This grey-ish blue color is a subtle way to wear a summer shade into the fall, and even winter.

9. Rose Gold

If you’re looking for a metallic this season, rose gold is for sure the way to go. The color is so fall and the shine will look amazing. If sparkles aren’t your style, you can still get this great type of color without the shimmer.

10. Gray

Gray matches everything. It is perfect for the fall and depending on the shade, can last you throughout the winter as well. It’s a very trendy color this season.
