Campus Cutie – Amin

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Waseda chapter.
From being voted Waseda University’s #1 cutie in a television program to being featured a number of times in nationally famous magazines to modeling for big-time companies, this week’s Campus Cutie might already be familiar to our readers! Meet Amin Qureshi, a SILS sophomore!
So first off, questions on dating! What has your dating life been like until now and what is your current relationship status?
I’ve had one relationship that was in high school and I am currently single.

What are characteristics you look for in a girl?
I prefer girls who are kept together and have decent manners. She needs to be able to get along with my friends. That’s really important. And generally speaking, she needs to be friendly and outgoing.
Having been featured on television programs and magazines, do you still get nervous while you are being interviewed, filmed or photographed?
No, not really. When I’m being interviewed I just think of it as kind of a job interview and handle it as professionally as I can. I feel more nervous right now that a friend is interviewing me! (laughs)

Aside from modeling what do you do?
I go to school four days a week and I work part time at a suit store and as a doorman at Ralph Lauren.

And when you’re not modeling, working or at school?
I occasionally give lectures at other universities around Tokyo as a guest speaker. In Nagoya, I organize a support group for children who feel as though they are a minority due to their different nationalities and ethnicities. I also tried asking you out to dinner, but you ignored my question… (laughs)

Isn’t it the other way around?! (both laugh) Thank you for your time, Amin!
