What Jacket To Wear On a Night Out

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Warwick chapter.

It’s that time of year again; you’re sneaking the heating on when your flatmates aren’t looking, sleeping in 3 layers and coming home in the pitch black. It’s bleak, but not bleak enough to stop you from going out, so how do you combat the cold without drawing attention away from your outfit? Fear not, HCW have narrowed your options down to three easy fixes.

The Cropped Biker

If you’re reading this you probably already have one. A staple faux leather, black or tan, goes with most anything, with the exception perhaps of a lace midi-dress, leather as a general rule doesn’t often mix with formal-wear. Timeless and effortlessly sexy, a cropped biker will always flatter your outfit and the PCV outer layer keeps you from freezing to death outside Smack when you’ve forgotten to buy Q-Jump…again.

The BLazer

Smart, sexy, sophisticated……meaning don’t wear your blazer to your RaG bar crawl where you’ll end up spilling Eliminator on it at Kelseys. Save that baby for your Girl’s birthday cocktails, or dare I say it, a date.

The Denim Jacket

Ah, the denim jacket. Soft, comfy, and sleeves long enough to tie around your waist when that packed-club sweat kicks in – unlike that rubbery leather jacket you just paid to put in the cloak-room, potentially to be lost among the sixty others checked in before you. Personalise yours with badges or patches or layer over a plain zip-up hoodie for extra warmth.
