Easy Tips to Be Relaxed During Finals Week

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wake Forest chapter.

Finals are right around the corner, and I can practically feel my classes and the thousand hours of studying breathing down my neck. It is an overwhelming time for everyone, and I don’t know about you, but I do not have the energy to worry about looking put together in this home stretch. In such a stressful time, there are a few go to tricks that I use to remain calm when I’m in the eye of the storm.

This may seem strange but, it’s time to invest in some lavender. Whenever I get super stressed, I’ll spray a few pumps of lavender mist onto my pillow before I go to bed and it instantly relaxes me. According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, studies show that “lavender essential oil may be beneficial in a variety of conditions, including insomnia… anxiety, stress and postoperative pain” (“Lavender”). Just a few sprays of lavender and it will help you get your ~beauty~ sleep during these trying times.

Face masks are a godsend. A good facemask not only transports you to a five-star resort, but it helps with those stubborn stressed induced pimples that may pop up.

I have truly never seen something as beautiful as the candy section of the POD during finals. It is my haven; it is the thing I work for. I tell myself if I can finish this paper, or finish reviewing for this test, then I will reward myself with POD chocolate. I hold onto that stuff like a lifeline and I have #noshame when it comes to eating copious amounts of candy during finals.
