21 Fears We All Have about Graduating

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wake Forest chapter.

1. Wait, you mean this entry-level salary won’t cover my current lifestyle?

2. What if I never make friends as amazing and as close as the ones I made in college?

3. Who will I hang out with then?

4. What if I don’t like the people I work with?

5. What if they don’t like me?

6. OMG, who will I go out with in the real world? Do adults still drink for fun?

7. I can’t believe I used to consider people my age to be “adults”…

8. What if the hookup culture never ends!?

9. What if I’m single FOREVER!!??

10. Forget about having kids… How will I ever support my future DOGS!?

11. How will I get to work by 8 AM every day!? Having a 10 AM is hard enough…

12. And I actually have to pay for my own food? I’ll go broke just feeding myself…

13. Will I really have to make plans “in advance” to see my friends? Like, I can’t just pop in!??

14. And I’ll actually have to clean everything (including the bathroom) myself!? Like, no one will come clean it for me…EVER? Not even at the semester break?

15. Will people really judge me if I wear yoga pants to work? Even in the winter?

16. And I won’t be able to take anymore random naps throughout the day?

17. Wait… my paid vacation days are limited to what!??

18. So, like, no more long holiday breaks or summer vacation???

19. Oh gosh, what if college really is the best four years of my life?

20. What if it really is all downhill from here!?

21. What if I never experience anything as amazing and as thrilling as my time here at Wake!??

Hey, at least you’ll get to sleep in a real bed (goodbye Twin XLs!) and your pets and candles no longer have to be secret! Also, Parking and Transportation will never be allowed to ruin your life ever again. Adulting could actually be fun… Right?
