Rebirth of the Mule: The Fall 2017 Shoe

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Virginia Tech chapter.

Everything old becomes new again in the world of fashion, and this season it’s all about the classic mule. 90s babies can probably flip through their old baby books and see their mothers rocking a pair with mom jeans. They’re effortless, yet sophisticated and cool. Every fashion-conscious girl needs a pair this season. Here’s some ways modern fashionistas are wearing the classic shoe and some of my affordable favorites.

Cool Girl Casual

Pairing printed or plain mules with high-waisted jeans and a plain t-shirt or button up is a classic.

Trendy and Bold

Printed mules paired with cropped wide leg jeans and a blouse scream sophistication.

Step it Up

Mules don’t always have to be flat! Opting for heeled mules instead of stilettos for your girls night out will surely make you stand out and demand attention.

It’s easy to recreate these looks with summer to fall pieces that are already in your wardrobe. All you’ll need is a pair of mules! Here’s three of my favorites that won’t break the bank.
